Convoluted plot but worth persisting

Big Sky

At the start of this book the plot is complicated and the characters became difficult to differentiate. I was tempted to give up half way but plodded on and was pleased I did as the various threads start to draw together and some interesting characters begin to emerge. A clever and intriguing mystery. PS: Nearly finished it now and am totally absorbed so have upped my rating to 4 stars.

Crime novel with a difference

Big Sky

I tried to read Kate Atkinson years ago and couldn’t finish the book. But now I’m hooked on her Jackson Brodie novels. A cast of well rounded characters and interweaving themes - with the detective story being part of a larger canvas - takes this genre to a more literary level. Although it has the serious theme of human trafficking, Atkinsons sharp sense of humor helps to keep perspective and entertain. I lapped this one up.
